Houapanh’s annual Cherry Blossom festival will take place between 23-26 December in Xam Neua and Viengxay districts.
The festival will feature a variety of events like a beauty contest, a singing competition, and a Cherry Blossom viewing at the Laos-Japan Friendship Garden in Viengxay province.
In February 2016, a ceremony was held to build the 1.8 hectares Laos-Japan friendship garden for LAK 7.8 billion (roughly USD 447,460). The funding amount was shared between the governments of Laos and Japan.
